Anathema - Flight of the Valkyries

The white mare stood at the entrance of the jungle kingdom, the tree tops barely visible in the murky flood waters. This had been a long time coming, the unearthing of the kingdom Flame had formed out of the human kingdom. Even now, the shards of glass still sparkled in her memory - a gift that would never be forgotten. Closing her eyes, energy hummed around her as slowly but surely the water level subsided. Clouds formed above them, filling with the flood water but a soft wind pushed them away, out to sea where they could unleash their terror without causing harm to anyone else. It would have pleased Courant to flood Scythia, the sorry excuse for a kingdom pulled together by Valkyries and Rajputs but she had learned her lesson. She would get back at Paduan and the damage he caused.

“Your home is returned to you, my daughters.” She said, opening her eyes and looking upon the jungle for the first time in many, many years. A smile crossed her lips, bright blue eyes sparkling with the ambition of a mortal as she stepped forward. “Come with me.” She instructed, muscles coiling and releasing as she pushed further into the humid rain forest. Inhaling deeply, the sweet scent of the jungle filled her with memories of her young days as a goddess, when she led the Valkyries to greatness. Serene had followed in her footsteps, the closest thing to a goddess the mortals had had at that time. Seduction followed, building the Queendom into what many feared during the Modern Era.

Coming to the familiar pool, waterfall pouring over a large rock formation, she turned and looked upon the small gathering of daughters. Ears perking forward, tail twitching from side to side in anticipation, she smiled. “Welcome home, children. I hope things will be better this time around. This is the beginning of a new era for us, and with that comes new leadership, new legends waiting to be born.” She paused, eyes moving among the group. Those who ahd been faithful to the sisterhood through the Flood had come: Freska, Ankh, Serafina, and of course Sasha. Verily, a new face, had joined the resurrection. Primonetta was there, the ambitious one Courant had given the task of bringing the group together to. Finally, they settled on the marred face of Tick Tock, the one who had felt the brunt of Paduan’s anger.

Tick Tock would be the one who would lead them to greatness.
